How HBS Rent a Car Sri Lanka uses the details you send us. Last updated 21 October 2026.

We only ask for the details we need to answer you and to run your rental. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Who we are

This website is run by H.B.S. Rent a Car Sri Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Mirisgoniyawa junction, Bulagala, Dambulla, Sri Lanka. We rent cars with and without a driver.

Details you send us in an enquiry or booking form: your name, e-mail address, phone number, pick-up and return places and dates, the vehicle you ask about and any message you write.
Messages you send us by e-mail or WhatsApp, and the details you give us when you hire a vehicle (for example your driving licence and identity document, which the rental agreement requires).
Technical data about your visit that Google and Meta tools collect through cookies and similar technologies: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you reached the site.

To answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation, confirm a booking and run the rental.
To keep the records a rental business must keep (agreements, invoices, receipts, insurance and accident reports).
To understand which pages and advertisements bring visitors, and to improve the website and our advertising.

We use Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits and advertising results.
When you send an enquiry, the Google tag may also receive your e-mail address and phone number as "user-provided data" so that Google can match the enquiry to an advertisement you saw (enhanced conversions). The tag converts these details into a hashed, unreadable code in your browser before sending them; Google does not receive them in plain text.
These tools are governed by the privacy policies of Google and Meta. You can manage the advertising settings of your own accounts with each of them.

We do not sell your personal data.
We share it only with service providers that help us run the business (website hosting, e-mail, cloud storage and the measurement tools above), with insurers and authorities when a rental or an accident requires it, and where the law demands it.

Cookies and similar technologies are used by the measurement tools above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website still works, but some measurement then no longer applies to your visit.

We keep enquiry details for as long as they are needed to deal with your request, and rental records for as long as accounting, insurance and legal rules require.
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it (unless we must keep it by law) by writing to info@rentacarsrilankahbs.com or messaging us on WhatsApp.
We protect the data with access controls and encrypted connections, but no system on the internet is completely secure.

We may update this policy when our practices change. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page (21 October 2026).
