About the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

The Land Cruiser Prado is a full-size SUV, built on a strong frame, and in Sri Lanka it is the usual choice for families and small groups who want comfort on long drives and confidence on poor roads. Our Prados include the 150 series and are listed with 6 or 7 seats; most are diesel.

It is the car to choose for the south-east and the hill country: Yala and Udawalawe side roads, the climb to Nuwara Eliya, and the bends to Ella. The high seat gives a good view of the road, and the engine does not strain when the car is full.

It is also a good car for a family of five with luggage. With the third row of seats up the boot is small, so for seven people with large bags, ask us about a van as well.

On Sri Lankan roads

The Prado is at home on the Colombo-Kandy road, the hill-country climbs and the south-east, and it is the only one of our cars we recommend for rough, unpaved side roads.

What the rate includes

Commercial rent-a-car insurance (an insurance excess applies, as stated in your agreement).
24/7 breakdown support island-wide.
100 km per day. Extra kilometres are billed at the excess rate.
Self-drive or with a driver; airport pickup on request.

Fuel, expressway tolls, parking and traffic fines are paid by the hirer, and a refundable security deposit is taken at handover. The rate per day falls for two weeks, one month and three months. See the full price list.

Self-drive hire is offered on our vehicles, subject to your driving licence. Tell us which car you want and we confirm. You can also hire it with a driver.

Is the Prado good for Yala and the hill country?

Yes. Its ground clearance and engine suit the park roads, and the climbs to Nuwara Eliya and Ella.
