Who can rent a self-drive car

The driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid national driving licence with at least one to two years of experience. Foreign nationals must hold a valid International Driving Permit or obtain a temporary driving endorsement from the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC). We assist with the endorsement; see driving licence rules for tourists.

How self-drive works

• Send your dates, pickup place and the route you plan.
• We suggest and confirm a vehicle.
• At handover we complete the agreement, inspect the car with you and take the refundable security deposit.
• You drive; our 24/7 support is a call away.
• On return we inspect the car and refund the deposit if there is nothing to charge.

Distance and fuel

Standard rates include 100 km per day under our terms, and extra kilometres are billed at the excess rate. On some vehicles an unlimited-kilometre add-on can be added for a fee that differs by vehicle; ask when you book. The fuel policy is full-to-full or same-level. What to send us

Send your dates, the places you will start and finish, the number of passengers and the route. If you are a foreign national, tell us your nationality and licence country, and whether you already hold an International Driving Permit. We confirm the vehicle, the deposit and the permit steps.

Extras

GPS navigation and child safety seats are available as add-ons. Extra drivers can be registered in advance on presentation of their licences. Ask about delivery to the airport or your hotel.
